The concert of Azis who was targeted by Yeni Akit newspaper, was cancelled

It was revealed that the concert of the Bulgarian gay singer Azis, who was supposed to perform at the Balkan Festival to be held in the province of Bursa – Turkey on September 19, 2021, was cancelled after he was targeted by Yeni Akit newspaper


It was revealed that the concert of Bulgarian gay pop singer, Vasil Troyanov Boyanov, a.k.a. Azis, who was expected to take the stage on September 19 at the Balkan Festival to be organized in Kestel district of Bursa province from September 16 to 19, 2021, was cancelled after he was targeted by Yeni Akit newspaper.

According to the news of Aslı Alpar from Kaos GL, after the news article titled “What is AK Party’s Kestel Municipality trying to do? Gay and deviant Azis will take the stage at the festival for the locals” was published on the website of Yeni Akit, Kestel Municipality announced that they have reversed “their wrong decision” and canceled the concert of singer Azis.

Speaking to Yeni Akit after the decision of cancellation, mayor Önder Tandır also said, “We released the announcement without viewing the related photographs and videos of the said artist. We cancelled his performance once we realized the mistake.”

Bulgarian gay presenter, politician, author and singer Azis represented Bulgaria at Eurovision in 2006.
