A group attempted to attack musician Suavi during a concert held in the Beykoz district of Istanbul, which was part of the “19 August World Beykoz Residents’ Day” celebration organized by Beykoz Municipality.
Before the concert, the MHP Beykoz District Presidency issued statements targeting Suavi. They expressed: “Alongside our fellow citizens who take pride in their identity as Beykoz residents, characterized by their patriotic spirit and strong national values, we wholeheartedly share these concerns. We ask: Why Suavi? It is evident from the available evidence that Suavi, who sends greetings to Selahattin Demirtaş and uses his events as a platform for political propaganda, collaborates with those who oppose the indivisible integrity of our homeland and nation. Allowing him to perform on Beykoz’s most important and honorable day is a disregard for national sentiments, and this attitude cannot be tolerated.”
