The conditional request of poet İlhan Sami Çomak, who has been in prison for 29 years has been denied. If his lawyers’ appeal is also rejected he will have to remain in prison until August 2024
İlhan Sami Çomak, who has been in prison for 29 years, since he was 22, became eligible for early conditional release this month. Per law, prisoners are eligible for early conditional release a year before the actual date. His request was denied by the Administrative and Observation Board of Silivri Prison No. 5. The lawyers will appeal the decision.
