Artist Fahrettin Örenli announced that his work in the exhibition titled “Tek Yön,” held at the Beyoğlu Municipality’s Istiklal Art Gallery from October 8 to 18, faced censorship by municipality employees. In a public statement regarding the censorship, Örenli revealed that his book “Conspiracy Wall-> ANARTIST,” intended to accompany his installation “The Organic Cities [made up of ‘US’],” was removed prior to the exhibition opening because it had been added without permission. Additionally, after the exhibition began, his work “The Organic [made up of ‘US’] 2020.B07-P04, SEOUL,” which was part of the same installation, was taken down without his knowledge due to “sensitivities” following a viewer’s complaint about “obscenity.”
