On January 10, the 2nd Criminal Judicature of Peace in Diyarbakır issued a ban on the printing, distribution, and sale of five books published by Avesta, Aram, Name and Helbest.
The court also ordered the confiscation of all copies of these books. Among the confiscated works are Hatip Dicle’s “Efrin Resistance Diary,” Mekiye Derya Deniz’s “Being a Woman,” and Mahmut Aba’s “Dildarê Serkeftinê” (Başarı Sevdalısı), which were seized by the police without justification during the 8th Diyarbakır Book Fair in December 2024.
Additionally, Pirhat Amed’s “Wê Roj Bê (The Day Will Come)” and Hüseyin Kalkan’s “Burhan’s Book: I Left My Soul in Those Lands” were also included in the court’s decision to ban their printing, distribution, and sale, along with orders to confiscate all copies of these books.
