Artist Onur Bolat, who was invited to the 12th Aegean Humor Festival organized by Ege University’s Cartoon and Humor Society on December 9-10, was deemed “objectionable” by the university rector’s office, and the artist, known by the pseudonym Hikmeti Tabiyeci, was prevented from attending the event.
Stating that there was no investigation against him, Bolat reacted to the decision by saying, “This is the same as the discourse of the 80 coup d’état.” The Rectorate of Ege University did not make an official statement.
