Musician Cihan Çelik sentenced to 1 year and 3 months in prison

The artist has been sentenced for “terrorism propaganda” over a Koçgiri melody he sang at an event


The second hearing in the trial of musician Cihan Çelik on the charge of “terrorism propaganda” for performing the song “Koçgiri Başladı Harba,” (Koçgiri Started Harba) which was written about the Koçgiri Massacre at an event he attended in Belgium, was held at the İstanbul 22nd High Criminal Court.

According to MLSA’s Eylem Sonbahar, the court sentenced Cihan Çelik to 1 year and 3 months on the charge of “terrorism propaganda.” The verdict was deferred.
