Borçka District Governorate has banned, without justification, the performance of children’s plays in schools as part of the 3rd Borçka Theater Festival organized by Borçka Municipality between October 13-20.
In the statement made by the festival committee, the district governor’s ban was condemned. The statement said: “Due to the arbitrary and politically motivated ban imposed by the district governor, 10 schools will not be visited, and plays will not be performed for approximately 2,000 children. We will not remain silent in the face of censorship that robs children of their imagination and their right to explore freely. It is games, not politics, that help children understand the world and ask questions freely.”
