{"id":698,"date":"2021-11-16T15:30:02","date_gmt":"2021-11-16T12:30:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/susma24.com\/en\/?p=698"},"modified":"2021-11-16T15:30:39","modified_gmt":"2021-11-16T12:30:39","slug":"fatih-district-governorship-banned-a-theatre-play","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/susma24.com\/en\/index.php\/fatih-district-governorship-banned-a-theatre-play\/","title":{"rendered":"Fatih District Governorship banned a theatre play"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Actors&#8217; Union announced that Fatih District Governor&#8217;s Office <em>banned the<\/em> play &#8220;Death Was Asleep&#8221; because it was &#8220;not found suitable in terms of public security&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The full text of the union&#8217;s resolution on the ban is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Written by Cuma Boynukara and directed by our members Nurcan \u00c7elebi, starring Ahmet U\u00e7ar, from Tiyatro \u0130mge, <em>\u00d6l\u00fcm Uykudayd\u0131<\/em> (&#8216;Death Was Asleep&#8217;)\u00a0<em>Death Was Asleep<\/em> play was to be staged at Fatih Emir Ali Culture Center on 9 November 2021. However, according to the information we received from our member, we learned that the play was canceled by Fatih District Governorship on the grounds that &#8216;it was not found suitable for public security as a result of virtual scanning.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>We do not accept the censorship of the play <em>Death Was Asleep,<\/em> which has been staged many times before.
