Among the five taken into custody during the police raid on the \u0130dil Cultural Centre in \u0130stanbul where Grup Yorum make their rehearsals, on 5 August, Nuriye G\u00fclmen and R\u0131dvan Akba\u015f were detained.<\/p>\n
According to the statement by the People\u2019s Law Office (Halk\u0131n Hukuk B\u00fcrosu<\/em>), G\u00fclmen and Akba\u015f, brought before the criminal court of peace, were detailed while F\u0131rat Kaya, Ezgi Kul, and Yasemin Karada\u011f were released under judicial control.<\/p>\n WHAT HAD HAPPENED?<\/strong><\/p>\n The Istanbul Governorate had announced that it would not permit the concert that would be dedicated to the memory of Helin B\u00f6lek and \u0130brahim G\u00f6k\u00e7ek who had died on hunger strike against the crackdown on Grup Yorum and for a fair trial.<\/p>\n The Grup Yorum concert, scheduled for 15.00 in \u0130stanbul Yenikap\u0131 and not authorized by the governorate, was prevented by the police and 29 people were taken into custody during the police crackdown.<\/p>\n ALL THOSE UNDER CUSTODY RELEASED<\/strong><\/p>\n 12 people taken into custody during the police assault before the band\u2019s planned 9th Independent Turkey Concert were released.
