Musician Y\u0131lmaz \u00c7elik, whose home had been raided by the police following his concert at the Tunceli Cultural Directorate Conference Hall on 8 December 2019, had been detained on charges of \u201cbeing a member of a terrorist organization\u201d and \u201cspreading terrorist propaganda\u201d.<\/p>\n
In today\u2019s trial at the 2nd<\/sup> Assize Court of Tunceli, the detainee \u00c7elik rejected the charges against him. The panel of judges released \u00c7elik on judicial control and postponed the trial.<\/p>\n According to the story by Pir News Agency, the indictment contained statements by an informant about Y\u0131lmaz \u00c7elik, and \u00c7elik\u2019s social media posts including photos of \u0130brahim Kaypakkaya and Mahir \u00c7ayan, and the fact that he had performed the t\u00fcrk\u00fc<\/em> (a type of folk song) called Ali Haydar \u00d6lmez <\/em>(Ali Haydar Couldn\u2019t Die<\/em>) were admitted as evidence for crime.<\/p>\n Regarding the indictment penned about Y\u0131lmaz \u00c7elik, Attorney H\u00fcseyin Ayg\u00fcn stated the following: \u201cMusician Y\u0131lmaz \u00c7elik entered the new year 2020 in jail. According to the indictment released on the last day of the year, his crime was really playing the saz <\/em>(a musical instrument).
