The investigation against famous actors Halit Ergen\u00e7 and R\u0131za Kocao\u011flu for allegedly giving false testimony in the Ay\u015fe Bar\u0131m case has been turned into a prosecution. An open case has been filed against the two actors, seeking prison sentences of between two and four years. The indictment, which calls for Ergen\u00e7 and Kocao\u011flu to be imprisoned for up to four years on the charge of “giving false testimony”, has been sent to the Istanbul 24th Criminal Court for review. Ergen\u00e7 and Kocao\u011flu are listed as “suspects” in the indictment.
\nA preliminary investigation was opened against Ay\u015fe Bar\u0131m, founder and partner of ID Dan\u0131\u015fmanl\u0131k Limited \u015eirketi, based on written and visual media claims that she had participated in the Gezi Park events. Bar\u0131m, who was arrested on 24 January on charges of “attempting to overthrow the government of the Republic of Turkey or preventing it from carrying out its duties”, was detained by the court on 27 January.
\nDuring the investigation, well-known actors Halit Ergen\u00e7, Berg\u00fczar Korel, Mehmet G\u00fcnsur, Ceyda D\u00fcvenci, Nejat \u0130\u015fler, R\u0131za Kocao\u011flu and Nehir Erdo\u011fan testified.
