{"id":1424,"date":"2024-09-09T15:42:06","date_gmt":"2024-09-09T12:42:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/susma24.com\/en\/?p=1424"},"modified":"2025-03-04T15:45:35","modified_gmt":"2025-03-04T12:45:35","slug":"recall-order-for-daughters-of-kobani-and-the-purple-color-of-kurdish-politics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/susma24.com\/en\/index.php\/recall-order-for-daughters-of-kobani-and-the-purple-color-of-kurdish-politics\/","title":{"rendered":"Recall Order for \u201cDaughters of Kobani\u201d and \u201cThe Purple Color of Kurdish Politics\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On this date, the Izmir 4th Criminal Court of Peace approved a request from the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor&#8217;s Office to ban and confiscate Gayle Tzemach Lemmon&#8217;s book \u201cKobani&#8217;nin K\u0131zlar\u0131\u201d (Daughters of Kobani) published by Avesta Publishing, as well as G\u00fcltan K\u0131\u015fanak&#8217;s book \u201cK\u00fcrt Siyasetinin Mor Rengi\u201d (The Purple Color of Kurdish Politics) from Dipnot Publishing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mezopotamya Agency reported that the investigation prosecutor requested the ban on these two books, which were seized during a search at the home of Berna \u00c7elik, a former \u0130zmir Provincial Co-Chair of the Peoples&#8217; Democratic Party (HDP). Berna \u00c7elik was detained on October 6, 2023, and arrested three days later.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earlier, on March 27, 2023, the Terrorism Crimes Investigation Bureau Prosecutor&#8217;s Office sought the ban and confiscation of the books, arguing that they contained propaganda for an illegal organization.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After reviewing the prosecutor&#8217;s request, the Izmir 4th Criminal Court of Peace agreed and ordered the books to be banned and confiscated.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is worth noting that the Izmir 2nd Criminal Judicature of Peace had previously imposed a nationwide ban on K\u0131\u015fanak&#8217;s book \u201cThe Purple Color of Kurdish Politics\u201d and ordered the seizure of distributed copies.
