{"id":1016,"date":"2022-05-17T12:41:43","date_gmt":"2022-05-17T09:41:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/susma24.com\/en\/?p=1016"},"modified":"2023-01-25T12:49:33","modified_gmt":"2023-01-25T09:49:33","slug":"staging-of-don-kixot-was-banned","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/susma24.com\/en\/index.php\/staging-of-don-kixot-was-banned\/","title":{"rendered":"Staging of &#8216;Don K\u00eexot&#8217; was banned"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The staging of the play <em>Don K\u00eexot<\/em>, adapted from Miguel de Cervantes&#8217;s book Don Quixote into Kurdish by \u015eanoya Baj\u00ear a Amed\u00ea (Amed City Theatre), on 28 May 2022 was banned by \u00c7ay\u0131rova Municipality which belongs to the Justice and Development Party (AKP).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although the theater contract was signed by Seyme Organization for the play to be staged at Kocaeli \u00c7ay\u0131rova Municipality Necmettin Erbakan Cultural Center on May 28 2022, \u00c7ay\u0131rova Municipality blocked the play at the last moment on the grounds that the hall was &#8220;allocated to another organization.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seyme Organization announced on its social media account that the theater play was banned using the following words:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAlthough the contract for the hall was signed for the play &#8216;Don K\u00eexot&#8217;, which will be staged by @amedtiyatro on 28 May in Kocaeli, we were informed by the \u00c7ay\u0131rova Municipality that the hall was allocated to another organization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This information, which was given to us by phone outside of working hours, on the evening of 13 May at 22.30, is an attitude that violates our contract.
